Online Banking Login Security Changes

posted on Thursday, March 5, 2015 in Security & Fraud Information

On Sunday, March 15, 2015, your internet banking login process is changing.

At First National Bank, we are committed to online security and keeping your accounts safe.  We are also making it easier for you to access your account(s) online, while continuing to protect your account(s) with out powerful, multi-layer security enhancement.

Beginning Sunday, March 15, 2015 after 10pm, your personally selected image and passphrase will no longer be displayed during your Internet or Mobile Banking login process.  During this time, your login process will be enhanced to utilize not only login credentials but will now recognize both geographic location and the device in which your internet banking is being accessed from.

What do I need to do?

  • Your current Internet or Mobile Banking Access ID and Password will remain the same.
  • To further enhance our Internet Banking login process, we have also modified our security questions.  As a result, you will automatically be prompted to re-establish your security questions and answers when you login after 10pm on March 15th or after.  Your security questions and answers will need to be re-established within Internet Banking on your computer.  If you are traveling or do not have immediate access, please contact us at 1.877.782.2195.
  • Devices will also need to be re-registered for personal use.

Security Enhancements:

  • Credentials. The access process begins with you entering your valid Access ID and Password (for current Internet or Mobile Banking users, this information will remain unchanged).
  • Geographic Location.  Then if your geographic location is different than normal, you may be asked to answer a security question.
  • Device.  Finally, we will check the device you are using - computer, mobile phone or tablet are all verified.  If we don't recognize the device, we may ask you to complete a Security Challenge question to verify your identity.
